The newly built kindergarten of Arevashogh village (Lori region) will open its doors in a nicely furnished building, equipped with modern kitchen facilities. Located right next to Spitak, Arevashogh village was almost completely destroyed during the earthquake of 1988, but today it has 3250 inhabitants. In contrast with many other villages, it experiences positive demographic growth, but did not have a kindergarten till today. The building, constructed by the means of the community and government, is now completely ready to welcome 60 pupils of pre-school age. It will not only allow children to have pre-school education and become a member of the society in their early years, but will also give the women the opportunity to work.
Bruno Duthoit, Chairman of Board of the Orange Foundation said: “Children have always been in the center of attention of the Orange Foundation. We consider that issues related to children, their education, cultural development are the most important issues as future successes of every country depend on our attention to children today. We wish to the village that very soon the kindergarten will be too small to host all children that are ready to attend it”
The kindergarten has been constructed with the financial means of the community and government in 2011. “Shen” charitable NGO has had its contribution for the organizational costs of furnishing the kindergarten as well as purchasing toys and books.
Orange Armenia Foundation has allotted 7.3 million AMD to acquire the furniture.
Orange and “Shen” Charitable NGO continue implementing charitable projects, directed to the development of rural communities in Armenia. By implementing such projects in the frames of this strategic partnership, Orange and Shen have in the center of their activity children, their education, health, pre-school and sport education.
