Open Game
Open championship of computer games development “OPEN GAME” organized for the first time by UITE (Union of IT Enterprises) and Orange Armenia is over.
During the four stages of the championship the Jury evaluated participant games for the following 7 nominations: Best game, Scenario, Character, Design, Animation, Innovation and Best mobile application-game. On the day of the awards an exhibition of games was held at Orange Flagship Store, in Northern avenue. By the results of votes of the visitors, the most popular game was also selected. The exhibition hosted not only the games developed by the participants, but also studios and developers in the field.
In the nomination “Best game”, which was the main prize of the contest the team Green Circle was chosen with the game “Ani”, a 3D shooter game. The action of the game takes place in Ani, one of historical Armenian capitals.
Ruzanna Asryan was awared for the best design, with the game “David from Sassoun”, as for the design of the charachters and for the design of the environment.
In the nomination “Best mobile Application” the team “Vaspurik” was awarded. The hero of the game, also named Vaspurik, recalls the famous Mario, but the game is developed for Android OS.
The Best scenario nomination was taken by Victoria Harutyunyan with the game “Viking”, Vanik Mkrtchyan with “Smasher” and LeMaLuSp team with “LeMaLuSp” game. The Jury decided not to award anyone in the nominations “Innovation”, “Animation” and “Character”. But, taking into account the fact that BOYAJYAN BROTHERS և Arcanoid teams had recorded significant evolution since the start of the contest, the Jury decided to award them with special prizes, “for progress”.
Following the voting of the visitors LeMaLuSp, the schoolchildren team from the Yerevan Physics and Mathematics school, collected the most number of votes.
The fund of the contest was 1.340,000 AMD, distributed in the following way: “Best game” – 400,000 AMD, “Best design” – 150,000 AMD, “Best mobile application-game” – 150,000 AMD, “Best scenario” – 150,000 AMD to each winner, Visistors’ selection – 100,000 AMD and special prize of the Jury – 45,000 AMD to each winner.
The Jury was composed of experts of the domain, including representatives of P-Art, Sourcio, Teoken, Tx Systems, Triada, Robert Saakyants Production, Microsoft companies, Association of modern technologies professionals, National Professional Cybersport League, as well as UITE and Orange.
